Private Lessons,    Virtual Lessons,    ‘School of Rock’,    E-Learning Campus

Guitar, Piano, and Voice

Whether you are browsing the web for a music teacher, some new music lessons to work on, or just looking for some good advise, you’ve come to the right spot.  We offer private lessons both locally and VIRTUALLY.  Forget about those Music Store lessons! Our unconventional methods of learning how to play are easy and fun. You could be a masterful player in less than a year. We have an online educational campus which includes ‘School of Rock’ style lessons, song writing classes, printable resources, and SKYPE video conferencing lessons.  Master the art of music while you learn to play some of the best songs on the planet!

Experienced and Licensed Teachers!

Over 25 years experience in all types of music and instruments.  However, it takes more than experience to TEACH!!! Beware, not all musicians are teachers, or even good at teaching!  Learn from a licensed teacher! If you wanted to learn how to build a house (one that won’t fall down), would you look online for instructions, read Builders World magazine, and try to do it yourself? Or would you hire a construction worker to teach you?  Or would you go to a trade school or college and learn from the professionals?

A new way of learning - boring lessons are a thing of the past!

Typical music lessons and ‘Method’ books tend to focus on reading sheet music, boring music notation or random skills and theory that the ‘teacher’ deems necessary. From an educator’s perspective, learning a new skill starts with easy and fun activities that focus on the fundamental aspects of that skill (instrument). Learn to play the basics inside and out; then learn your favorite guitar solo or Beethoven Sonata. .  Here is the key to being a GREAT musician (or great anything for that matter) - Master the Fundamentals then build on that. Write that down!

You could be playing in a band... NOW!

With our new ‘method’ you will be jamming in NO TIME!  We teach you the important stuff. As a beginner, there is no need to learn advanced techniques. There’s no need to learn how to ‘Read Music’.  There’s no need to spend 10 years locked in your garage learning everything there is to know.  We will teach you how to play real songs, real quick! We will teach you how to Jam in a band!  With a minimal amount of practice you could be playing in your own band or recording your own songs in less than a year!

Don’t wait.  Give us one year and we’ll make you a masterful musician!

A popular misconception about learning how to play an instrument is that you need to learn how to read music.  And there is so much to learn about playing your instrument that it might seem daunting or near impossible.  Sure, if you want to play in the symphony, or if you aspire to be a session musician, you’ll need to read music and know all the styles, techniques, chords, and scales .  Otherwise, you just need to know the basics of music notation and theory.  Think about how all the great Blues players of yesteryear got their start.  They learned the main CHORDS and main NOTES of a particular KEY (scale) and played the song.  They didn't worry about the hundred technical skills they could learn, they just played.  They didn't read music - they played music.

Sure technical virtuosity is nice, but not necessary.  Mastery of the FUNDAMENTALS will lead to your own virtuosity in its own time.  In my next posts I will discuss these fundamentals in further detail and you will soon be on your way to playing in a band, or better yet, starting your own band.  So while you're waiting for your first lesson, take a look at any beginner’s music book to learn about your instruments basic techniques, correct posture, basic music notation, etc. I will assume that you know how to strum the strings or find middle C, and other basics found in all the beginner books.  For most lessons I will use the Guitar and Piano in most examples.  However, these techniques will apply to all instruments and as a matter of fact, life in general!
